The face behind ArtStudio Mus
Hi! I’m Mariska, owner of ArtStudio Mus.
To be honest, I only recently started thinking of myself as an artist. I've been creating and making for years, but an artist? That title never felt like me. But as I began sharing my work, I realized… maybe we don’t need to define ourselves by rigid labels. Maybe creating is enough. And what if I could create for people, who are kinda like me? The 'others', the 'weirdo's' and the 'I feel different's in the world?
My love for nature and fantasy fuels everything I make. Whether it’s working with clay, pigments, minerals, or whatever the earth provides, I feel most at home when my hands are covered in materials that tell a story. And as a lifelong fantasy lover—books, movies, worlds built from imagination—magic always finds its way into my work.
I’m an animal lover and justice warrior at heart, and my ultimate dream is simple: to create pieces that bring joy, to inspire others, and to make my little corner of the world (and hopefully yours) a little brighter.

I create art
to stay sane 🙈 and I would love to remind people (that like and buy my stuff) that it is okay to feel (a little) different—for those who don’t quite fit the mold, who crave comfort in the little things, who want a reminder that they are enough, just as they are. Not despite their flaws but by embracing them.
Through handmade pottery, watercolor paintings, and carefully curated vintage finds, I want to bring you pieces that:

✔️ Remind you to slow down and enjoy the moment and that you are enough
✔️ Celebrate imperfections
My mission is to create a safe space in the form of art—a quiet rebellion against the fast-paced world, where things don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.
Because art, like people, isn’t meant to be mass-produced. It’s meant to be felt.
I envision
a world where the outsiders, misfits, and daydreamers find a moment of peace. A world where you can pick up a cup and be reminded that you are allowed to take up space—to exist as you are, unapologetically. That you are not alone in the feeling that simple daily tasks can take up your whole energy of the day.
I believe art can be a quiet act of self-acceptance—a way to create a life that feels good to YOU, no matter what the world expects. And if my work can bring that feeling, even for a second by looking at it, then I know I’m on the right path.

De aquarel is helemaal puntgaaf aangekomen. Je kunt zien dat het met veel liefde en zorg verpakt en verstuurd is.
Ik vind het een gezellig knus schilderijtje.

From the moment I received my package, I knew I had something special in my hands. The packaging was not only sturdy and secure - as if it could survive a trip through all kinds of weather with ease - but also packed with so much care and attention. Mariska had clearly put love and creativity into it, and as icing on the cake it even included a small gift. Such a personal touch immediately makes unwrapping a celebration.
And then the mug itself... Wow! In real life it is even more beautiful than in the pictures. The gold accent is real gold and not that dull, pale version you sometimes see. The glaze has beautiful coloring, which gives the mug a luxurious look. I was immediately in love!
In terms of functionality, it's also right on target. The mug has perfect proportions, sits wonderfully in the hand and makes my coffee moment even better. Sometimes you have a mug that looks nice, but is less practical - that is absolutely not the case here. This is a perfect balance between design and practicality.
I ordered from Mariska because I like to support my friends, but also because she just makes beautiful things. As creative people, we should help and inspire each other, and this is exactly why I appreciate her work so much.
Would I recommend it? A thousand times YES! If you're looking for unique, handmade ceramics with love and craftsmanship, you've come to the right place. Mariska not only makes beautiful things, but is also a wonderful person. This was definitely not my last order! 💙

The website of Artstudio Mus has recently come online. Beautiful handmade ceramics, so each creation is unique. And besides that a lot of beautiful things to make yourself or someone else happy. The prices are a delightful surprise. The artist likes to keep her collection affordable for her buyers. The creations are always shipped with great care and dedication, of course in her responsible way so as not to burden the environment unnecessarily. Curious? Then take a look....

De website van Artstudio Mus is sinds kort online. Prachtig handgemaakt keramiek, elke creatie is dus uniek. En daarnaast nog veel moois om jezelf of een ander blij mee te maken. De prijzen zijn een heerlijke verrassing. De kunstenares wil haar collectie graag betaalbaar houden voor haar kopers. De creaties worden altijd met veel zorg en toewijding verzonden, uiteraard op haar verantwoorde manier om het milieu niet onnodig te belasten. Nieuwsgierig geworden? Ga dan snel een kijkje nemen….
